RadioPit ("we", "our", or "us") operates the RadioPit web application and Android app (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
RadioPit does not require you to create an account with a username, email address, or password. Instead, the Service uses a randomly generated account key (a UUID token) to identify your account.
When you use the Service, we store the following on our servers:
Our servers also generate standard operational logs. Each request to our API — from either the web app or the Android app — is logged with your IP address, a timestamp, the request path, and your browser or app's user-agent string. When you play a stream through the web app's compatibility relay, that relay additionally logs your IP address, a timestamp, your user-agent, and the requested stream URL. These logs are used to operate the Service and prevent abuse, are not linked to your account key, are never used for advertising or profiling, and are retained only as long as needed for those purposes.
Beyond those operational logs, we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, or other personally identifiable information, and we do not link the account data above to any real-world identity.
The data we store is used solely to provide the Service — synchronising your radio stations and playlists across the web app and the Android app. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics profiling, or any other purpose.
We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share your stored account data with third parties for their own purposes. Two things are worth being aware of: (1) if you choose to make a playlist public using the share feature, anyone with the share link can view that playlist's name and station list; and (2) some features send limited data to third-party services in order to work — see "Third-Party Services" below.
Your data is retained on our servers for as long as you use the Service. Because accounts are identified only by an account key and no contact information is collected, we have no way to proactively notify you or delete your account on request — however, if you contact us with your account key, we will delete your data upon request.
Your account key is the only credential that protects your data. Keep it private. Anyone who has your account key can access your stations and playlists. All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS.
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
Some features rely on third-party services that your device contacts directly when you use them. In each case the third party receives your IP address and the specific data noted below; we do not send them your account key or station library.
itunes.apple.com) to look up cover art.radio-browser.info).These services have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. Directory search only contacts Radio Browser when you actively search; artwork lookups happen automatically during playback when a stream provides track information.
RadioPit allows you to save URLs of third-party internet radio streams. How your device reaches a stream depends on which app you use:
When your device connects to a stream provider directly, that provider may see your IP address. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party stream providers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
